The HEP1450 is housed in a VectorCast shell. Vectorcast is a spun-composite material, allowing to have a thin (only 3mm) yet high-strength shell that flexes with each strike. The result is a quick, snappy attack with whopping midrange overtones.
Spin-Tight tension rods also come standard with the Hybrid Exotic. These rods help you lock in your tuning across the batter head to withstand hard and heavy hitting all night. Speaking of locks, this snare drum also has a locking throw-off lever on its SR1000 Glide-Lock strainer. Truly a beautifully exotic instrument to play and behold.
